Solid Foundations

MasterCraft was founded in 1968 in Maryville, Tennessee. The builders worked hard to create a groundbreaking ski boat in a two-stall horse barn. Their goal: a hull that created the smallest wake possible, keeping the wake smooth and low at slalom and jump points, but ensuring it was well-defined at trick speeds.

They had a humble beginning, with only 12 boats crafted in the company’s first year. However, the incredible and revolutionary design led to order after order, their reputation swelling until MasterCraft ski boats were considered to be the very best on the market.

Innovation And Dedication

When wakesurfing became a leading watersport, MasterCraft boats rocked the industry by providing the first boats with onboard surf technology. Over the past ten years, MasterCraft has continued to explore and innovate their surf technology to ensure that customers received the best possible behind-the-boat experience. Far from their humble origins, MasterCraft now builds thousands of surf, wakeboard, and tournament ski boats every single year to keep up with growing demand.

Today

Today, MasterCraft boats are all manufactured in Vonore, Tennessee, from the thrilling NXT to the adored XStar. 500 craftsmen, inventors, and lovers of every water sport dedicate themselves to hand-crafting some of the most popular boats worldwide. Hundreds of owners, skiers, and boarders visit MasterCraft’s company headquarters every year to tour the facility and see where their dream boat was built.

The “MasterCraftsmen” responsible for construction head to nearby Lake Tellico every morning to build, test, and refine their handiwork. Lucky for you, you don’t need to make that trip!
